Morgan Brown Sanborn graduated magna cum laude with a BFA from Point Park University in 2009 and joined the Portland Ballet Company. Originally from Standish, ME she began her training at the Darcy Leavitt School of Ballet before graduating from the Portland Ballet CORPS program. Morgan studied dance at multiple local studios and attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre, Festival Ballet of Providence, Point Park University, and Boston Conservatory.

As a student, she performed in Portland Ballet’s Portland Dances ’06-’09 and Three Cornered Hat. With Point Park University’s Playhouse Dance Company she danced in Leny-Midkiff’s Euphoric Dances and Barak’s Telemann Overature Suite in E Minor.

Since joining Portland Ballet Company in 2009 she has been featured as Katrina in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the Princess in L’Histoire du Soldat, a soloist in Oberly’s Mozart’s Requiem, and Arabian Princess and Snow Crystal in The Victorian Nutcracker.

In her eight years of teaching experience at studios in the Southern Maine area. Her choreography has been featured in Portland Dances 08’, Point Park University’s Student Choreography Showcase 08’, and several local recitals, performances, and competitions.

Sanborn is an ABT® Certified teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

She is also a certified Pilates Academy International instructor as well as the JV field hockey coach at Bonny Eagle High School.

Morgan strives to properly progress students through their classes in order to develop the whole dancer; mentally, physically, and emotionally. It is her hope that this balance results in not only strong dancers, but strong audience members and community members as well. She enjoys working with athletes teaching them how ballet technique can launch their athletic performance!
